Please contact me via email to discuss or book a tour:

Please include your name, contact information, preferred date for the tour, group size and if you are interested in a tailor-made tour, a private group tour (of one of my themed tours, neighbourhood walking tours or museum / gallery visits), or a virtual tour.

I will respond within 48 hours.

Rates (for tailor-made tours):

From 1 April 2020: my rates are £176 for a half day tour (up to 4 hours) and £288 for a full day tour (up to 9 hours)

FOR DIRECT CLIENTS: I charge a small supplement to contribute towards the time and costs incurred in communication and tour organisation.

From 1 April 2020: my rates are £190 for a half day tour (up to 4 hours) and £305 for a full day tour (up to 9 hours)

*Half day morning tours should finish by 13:00.  Half day afternoon tours can start from 13:30 / 14:00.

*Tours should begin and end in central London, otherwise travel expenses and time will be charged

*Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and in line with other Blue Badge Tourist Guides, I am freezing my rates for next year.  This means that there will be no increase in my prices until 1 April 2022.  I hope this helps both direct clients and my travel trade partners to rearrange affected itineraries in confidence and without extra cost.

Longer tours

For extended days (more than 9 hours) I will quote separately.

I am happy to design extended itineraries (more than 2 days) for which I will provide detailed itinerary planning and assist with tickets.  In these circumstances I will charge a tour planning fee (usually 10-15% of my guiding fee).

Private Group Tours

Private group tours (usually booked by British cultural, educational or social groups) last approx 2-2.5 hours and include my walking tours, themed tours and museum / gallery tours.

Normal minimum group size of 15 to make the tour viable and a maximum group size of 20 (museums/galleries) or 25 (walking tours).  However, group sizes will be determined individually during the covid-19 pandemic, based on circumstances.

Normal cost £10 per person / concessions £9 (these prices will be held summer/winter 2020, but may well need to be revised in 2021 to allow for smaller groups – prices will be updated here)

Confirmation of the booking is by email, once dates and tour are mutually agreed

In the case of extended tours (more than 2 days), a non-refundable 20% deposit will normally be required to secure the booking.  If so, this will be confirmed via email.

Cancellation Charges:

Cancellation 10 days or less before the tour – 50% of agreed fee

Cancellation 4 days or less before the tour – the full fee is payable

Payment  (for direct clients)

I will invoice you 14 days before the tour.

Payment can be made by cash, cheque or securely via paypal

For payments via paypal, I will send you an invoice and a secure payment request by email.  It is quick, easy and secure to respond (you do not need a paypal account)

Payment should be received in full 4 days before the tour (unless otherwise agreed)

Refunds to direct clients by Caroline will be made in line with my cancellation policy.  As of March 2020 paypal fees from the original transaction cannot be returned.

Virtual Tours and Lectures

Please see specific page for my fees and terms and conditions.

Covid-19 Guidance

I am delighted to announce that I am now able to resume real-life tours!  For those who can’t travel to London at the moment, please see my “Virtual Tours and Lectures” page for virtual alternatives during this difficult time.

I will follow the “Covid-19 Guidance for Tour Guiding” – a code of conduct agreed between the Institute of Tourist Guiding, the British Guild of Tourist Guides, The Association of Professional Tourist Guides and Driver-Guides Association:

Covid-19 Guidance for Tour Guiding

I hold the “We’re Good to Go” Covid-19 industry standard, in partnership with the National Tourist Organisations of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.  This means that I am following government and industry Covid-19 guidelines, have a risk assessment in place and processes to maintain cleanliness and aid social distancing.

Covid-19 has made planning a holiday, or even a day trip, more challenging.  Let me help take away the stress and navigate you around London, so you can just relax and enjoy your day!  I am up to date with all the individual tourist sites’ safety policies, can suggest pleasant cafes and restaurants that are open and can take you on the quieter backstreets, which are more interesting anyway.

When working via tour operators and travel trade I will liaise with them regarding their risk assessments. I have carried out my own risk assessment for tours when I am booked directly by clients and safety measures will be communicated to / discussed with clients during booking.

At present the guidance from the government is that I can guide groups of up to 30 on walking tours outside and tours inside, providing I have undertaken a risk assessment and mitigated against any risks identified.  Please be aware that, in my view, there are VERY FEW locations where such a large group is safe and I will be recommending smaller group sizes in most cases.  Individual sites, museums and galleries also all have their own rules with which I will adhere.  Within the maximum group size, from 14 September 2020 customers can only take part in tours in groups of up to 6 people (unless they are a household or support bubble which is larger than 6).
