Confirmation of the booking is by email, once dates and tour are mutually agreed

In the case of extended tours (more than 2 days), a non-refundable 20% deposit will normally be required to secure the booking.  If so, this will be confirmed via email.

Payment  (for direct clients)

I will invoice you 14 days before the tour.

Payment can be made by cash, cheque or securely via paypal

For payments via paypal, I will send you an invoice and a secure payment request by email.  It is quick, easy and secure to respond (you do not need a paypal account)

Payment should be received in full 4 days before the tour (unless otherwise agreed)

Cancellation Charges:

Cancellation 10 days or less before the tour – 50% of agreed fee

Cancellation 4 days or less before the tour – the full fee is payable

Temporary Covid-19 cancellation policy: If cancellation is due to a change in government rules and regulations re Covid-19, compared to those in place and accepted at the time of booking, then a full refund will be available, based on a fair assessment of the individual circumstances.  This applies to government rules in the UK and in the client’s home country.  For example, I would expect to give a full refund in cases of a new ban on international travel, or a new or increased requirement to quarantine, or if a travel ban within the UK prohibited your itinerary.

All bookings will be accepted on the basis of mutual flexibility regarding the itinerary, and on the understanding that an agreed itinerary may need to change on the day, to meet any change in government regulations or site specific issues.

Refunds (for direct clients)

Refunds to direct clients by Caroline will be made in line with my cancellation policy.  As of March 2020 paypal fees from the original transaction cannot be returned.

Covid-19 Guidance

Covid-19 has made planning a holiday, or even a day trip, more challenging.  Let me help take away the stress and navigate you around London, so you can just relax and enjoy your day!  I am up to date with all the individual tourist sites’ safety policies, can suggest pleasant cafes and restaurants that are open and can take you on the quieter backstreets, which are more interesting anyway.

As of 24 February 2022 most of the remaining Covid-19 guidance in England has ended.  However, Caroline has maintained a streamlined risk assessment

Caroline has been fully vaccinated

* Caroline will exercise personal responsibility and will stay at home (ie not work as a guide) if experiencing symptoms of Covid-19

* Caroline requests a reciprocal responsibility from clients not to attend her tours if they are experiencing symptoms of Covid-19

* Consideration will be given, together with the client, to the location of all tours, together with the day of the week and time of day, in order to avoid crowds where possible.  Walking tours in the fresh air will be encouraged where possible

* The wearing of face coverings will be a matter of personal choice for clients.  Caroline will encourage the wearing of face coverings where requested by tourist sites, public transport and other hospitality settings

* In line with government advice, Caroline will no longer collect records of clients to assist with NHS Test and Trace.

Whilst the scheme was in operation, I held the “We’re Good to Go” Covid-19 industry standard, in partnership with the National Tourist Organisations of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.  This was recognised internationally by the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC)’s “Safe Travels” stamp.  The scheme was discontinued on 31 March 2022.
